My Dog Lucky
My golden retriever, Lucky, joined my family about four years ago. He was just a puppy and I lived on a farm in Pennsylvania.
Everyday, Lucky would run around the farm collar free. He was a free spirit and I trusted him enough to where I didn’t have to use a dog collar.
About 6 months ago I was offered a job opportunity that I couldn’t refuse, so myself and Lucky moved to a city area in Philadelphia. I figured the transition from country to city would be tough for Lucky, but completely overlooked one obstacle that made the transition difficult.
I would take Lucky for a walk around the block and struggle to keep him contained. My dog refused to willingly accept a standard leather dog collar around his neck nor did he appreciate his limited walking length thanks to the leash.
I tried many different brands of regular dog collars but Lucky always found a way to defeat them. Lucky would slip out of the dog collar and would even figure out how to manipulate the dog collar from his neck by placing his paws over his head and pushing the collar off.
I tried every dog collar brand at my local pet store. I nearly considered using a choke chain, but thought better of it. That’s when I was recommended to try the martingale dog collar.
I had seen the martingale dog collars on the racks at the stores, but it’s loops and exotic designed intimidated me so I never picked it up. I wish I had went to the martingale dog collar first!
It’s design was perfect to keep just the right amount of tension around Lucky’s neck to where he would walk, breathe and eat comfortably… And when he tried to disconnect himself with the martingale dog collar, the loop design would increase tension on the collar and keeping Lucky secured.
I have since gotten rid of all the other dog collars I bought because I am so pleased with the martingale dog collar.
And thanks to my new job, I went and bought Lucky a little something to thank Lucky and help him feel extra spiffy. I bought him a nylon based martingale collar with his name embroidered in the large loop of the collar!
I love the martingale dog collar and I truly believe Lucky does too.
Martingale Vs. Normal Collars
Have you been having trouble keeping your dog on your leash? Fido keeps escaping the dog collar? You should look into Martinale Dog Collars.
A regular dog collar is best compared to your everyday waist belt. A belt strip, typically made of leather or a similar durable texture, The
belt is harnaced with a buckle that intertwines with patternized holes punctured toward the end of the belt. Simple for keeping our trousers up, But a little bit trickier when around your animals neck.
Often times the typical dog collar can be defeated. If your dog breaks loose from his collar, the answer isn’t make the collar tighter- This can be hazardous, Instead, Look for an alternative. And where the standard dog collar fails… The Martingale Dog Collar prevails.

Martingale Dog Collars can be made from fabric or leather. They can be stock bought or personalized. How does the martingale dog collar work?
The Martingale dog collars consists of two loops within the collar’s structure. A larger loop that braces around your dogs neck, and a smaller loop clipped to the big loop. When used properly and attached to your leash, The martingale dog collar design will increase tension within the large loop when your dog attempts to pull his/her head from the collar, also known as quick release.

The design will afford the slack to the tension when your dog ceases from pulling away, Making the collar a comfortably level of snugness again. Thanks to this, Your dog will not be in danger of choking.
Aside from it’s secure design to ensure your dog’s safety and security, You can compliment your pup’s personality with a custom collar design.

Much like standard dog collars, You can sport martingale dog collars exhibiting colors for love, day or season. Christmas Martingale dog collars could be the perfect thank you to your K9 for dressing him up as a reindeer.
Hemp Martingale Collars
Eco-friendly products have been all the rage for years now and that trend seems to be going as strong as ever.
Now we have “green” versions of everything from mops to cars and even green musical instruments. It almost seems like it’s all hype. You may, like I did, question how it is going to make a difference if you buy an eco-friendly product over a cheaper or equally priced normal product. When I started to notice EVERYTHING was becoming biodegradable and better for the environment, I realized just how big an impact it could have on the ozone, the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the places we live.
When something decomposes, it is gone, it has become a part of the earth. When something is made of chemicals and plastics and doesn’t decompose for hundred and hundreds of years, it sit around with piles of other chemicals and plastics in big mounds with no
where to go, cluttering the landscape, polluting the air and water and taking up space.
At first I was reluctant to purchase earth friendly goods, if for no other reason, it just seemed pointless. But now that I see I can make a difference, I try to buy green products whenever available.
Prior to the 1900′s, there was a wonder plant in the US called hemp. It was used to make a wide variety of products from rope to birdseed. It was grown in abundance and was and still is very cheap. Once the US made it illegal to grow
hemp, manufacturers were forced to look to other sources for materials and started to develop their own chemically made materials including plastics. Along came such materials as rayon, polyester, and nylon.
Within the last 10 years, there has been a great boost in importation of hemp products to the USA. Dog collars among the many many products that are being made of hemp. The main advantage of a hemp dog collar isn’t realized until after you throw it away. Compared
to a nylon collar, a hemp collar will be long gone while a nylon dog collar is just sitting there in a landfill with a bunch of other plastics and junk.
Hemp dog collars come in endless sizes, styles, and variations, including of course, the Martingale type of dog collar. Hemp is very easy to color and weave in designs as well making it very easy to make custom designs in the weave.
This is great for getting personalized collars specifically made for your dog.
